* You must own a RockNRoller® or other compatible cart to use our products. The RocknRoller pictured is NOT included with all setups. See the "Compatible Carts" page for complete list. We highly recommend the R12 Stealth.
Production, maintenance, service cart. Foldable & collapsible cart design. How to DYI your Rocknroller cart or other utility cart into a production cart for film, photography, DJ, or audio.
If you experience wobble on your cart setup, don’t worry! Here is an easy and effective solution. Take one of your straps and make a 45º gusset. You can also extend the length of your compatible cart after your shelf is mounted. This will tighten all of the connections.
Use a rattail file (Sold separately) or 5/16” drill bit to widen the existing holes on your compatible cart. THIS STEP IS OFTEN NOT NECESSARY. However, some compatible carts have slightly small or offset holes from factory tolerances. Since we can not control this, you may need to prep the holes on your compatible cart. It won’t hurt to have slightly oversized holes. We suggest to ONLY DO THIS STEP IF YOU HAVE ISSUES ON STEP 5b.
Place the unit face down. Unhook the two nylon straps from the rods. This will separate the two shelves. You will re-use these straps later for a compact travel mode.
Depending on the size of your compatible cart/ shelf type, you may need to extend the length of your compatible cart to fit the bottom shelf. Once the bottom shelf sits flat and touches the arms/framing on each end of your compatible cart, it is now at the correct length for your top shelf to be mounted. Tighten your compatible cart’s extension knobs. The bottom shelf will stay in place with gravity, rubber bumpers, rubber feet, andcart arm tension once the top shelf is mounted.
(For variable rail width adjustments)
With the top shelf still face-down, hand loosen all thumb nuts attaching the two rails. For initial setup, you want the rails loose enough to slide in the slots. This will help you find the correct width for your compatible cart’s handles. Don’t worry, we’ll tighten these later. You only need to do this step on your initial setup.
a. Start on the FRONT wheel side of your compatible cart
(The pivoting wheel side).
b. Fully remove the red knob and remove the rod from the shelf. Line up the holes of the shelf to the holes of your compatible cart’s arms, then slide the rod back into place.

At this point, your progress should look like this.
Repeat step 5b on the other side.
Adjust your rail width on this end to be parallel with opposite end. Keep in mind, the back wheel end’s handle is slightly more narrow on most cart models. If you wish to keep the rails perfectly parallel and rods not protruding, you will need leave some gap between your compatible cart’s handle and the rail. Use our optional spacer kit to fill this gap. See more info about spacer kits further down the page.

Find the spacer kit to match your compatible cart / shelf system combination. This spacer kit will keep your rails parallel and prevent protruding rods. The spacer kits will mount permanently to the rail with three fasteners.Add Spacers (Optional)Most common spacer kits are only one (1) single spacer. Leaving spacer kits installed permanently is recommended. This will make it easy to identify the correct mount- ing orientation while setting up inthe future.
These carts are only compatible with the EGON Shelf System.
The shelf will not mount level with the defult block configuration. These compatible carts have wider than average handles and the holes are 1/2 inch lower on the back wheel handle than the front wheel handle. To correct these two anomalies, you must remove and flip the rail blocks to a new orientation. Continue for details.
1. Remove all blocks. Use the 3mm allen wrench provided.
2. Flip to expose the counter-bore holes (recessed cavity for knob) on all blocks
3. Orient two of the blocks with a high-hole position, and the other two blocks with a low-hole position.
4. Re-fasten all blocks into place. Make sure one end of the shelf has a high hole positions blocks and the other end has low hole postion blocks. All four (4) counter-bore holes exposed. Your shelf will now mount to the R14/ R18.
